Twitter Reactions: Twitter applauds Ajinkya Rahane for dual hundreds as he joins the elite list

Coming into the final Test of the Gandhi-Mandela series Indian middle order batsman, Ajinkya Rahane was at the edge of the swords of the critics, eagerly waiting to blast him if he continued his poor run at home. But come the 4th Test and he has done enough to mark himself as one of the most consistent batsmen in the team.

He has now scored 2 centuries in 4th Test match against South Africa at Delhi and joined the elite list of Indians who have scored twin centuries in Test cricket. With the help of Rahane’s century, India posted 267 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 2nd innings before declaring soon after he got to his ton.

Rahane, who was pretty poor before this game in Indian conditions has now silenced his critics by scoring 2 centuries in the same game. With his century, he also made quite a few records.

In the 1st innings, he scored a brilliant 127 and rescued India by batting with the tail. Yet again in the 2nd innings he played a crucial role in the Indian innings as he scored an unbeaten 100 after he shared a series best 154-run stand with captain Virat Kohli from a position when India were 4 down for 57 early in their second innings.

His effort helped India get a 480 runs lead in the second innings and got them into a position where the only result possible is the one in their favor.
