Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) hosted Delhi Capitals (DC) in match 62 of the Indian Premier League 2024 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. DC skipper for Sunday's match Axar Patel won the toss and chose to bowl against the home side. RCB squad played really well and showed a class performance against the visitors. They put up a score of 187/9 on board.

The luck was not in favour of the visitors as they could not chase a target of 188 runs in 20 overs on a batting pitch like Chinnaswamy. They lost early wickets which was not good for Delhi Capitals. Jake-Fraser McGurk scored 21 runs off just 8 balls, Axar Patel scored 57 off 39 balls and Shai Hope scored 29 runs off 23 balls. But the moment RCB bowlers destroyed the batting line-up of DC it was clear the match was going in favour of the home side.

It can be said that due to captain Rishabh Pant's absence, DC might have lost the match against RCB. Pant was suspended from one match for maintaining a slow over rate. Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad played really well and the bowlers helped destroy DC's batting line-up and secured their place in the race for playoff qualification. RCB beat DC by 47 runs.

1. RCB's first innings

In the match against DC, RCB players batted extraordinarily well as they had a good start where Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis smashed some boundaries. Kohli scored 27 runs off just 13 balls. 2. RCB bowlers on fire against DC

RCB bowlers' striking performance pushed the team to 5th position from 7th on the points table of the IPL 2024. Yash Dayal took 3 wickets in 3.1 overs by giving 20 runs with an economy of 6.32. Swapnil Singh, Mohammed Siraj and Cameron Green took one wicket each and Lockie Ferguson took 2 wickets. The performance of the team as a whole was extraordinary on Sunday's match. All the players gave their best and it was evident from their fielding efforts. Karn Sharma took an amazing catch to dismiss Shai Hope.

3. The bond between Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma

The equation between the two players Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma is all over social media because of the match between RCB and DC. In the first innings when Virat Kohli was dismissed by Ishant Sharma, he started walking towards the RCB den when Sharma was celebrating Kohli's wicket in front of him. In the same way, Kohli teased Ishant when he came to bat on field in the second innings.
