India continued their domination in the Test series against England and finished Day 3 of the 4th Test in Mumbai in a commanding position. Virat Kohli and opener Murali Vijay struck terrific centuries as India looked in complete control of the proceedings and finished the day with the score of 451/7 with Kohli batting on 147 and Jayant Yadav unbeaten on 30.

Beginning the day at 146/1, India lost Cheteshwar Pujara in the very first over to Jake Ball as he breached through the defense of the Saurashtra batsman without any addition to the overnight total. Kohli joined Vijay in the middle and the pair batted sensibly and didn’t look under any sort of pressure. They played the pacers with utmost comfort and apart from few misses and error of judgments here and there, the pair was hardly troubled by the English bowlers.

After scoring his century, Vijay looked a little complacent and survived quite a few close shaves but carried on for some time before eventually getting dismissed on 136. The stylish right-hander struck 10 fours and 3 sixes during his scintillating innings. With the fall of his wicket, India suffered a mid-innings collapse as they lost Karun Nair, Parthiv Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin in quick succession to help the visitors claw their way back into the match.

Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, captain Virat Kohli kept going and took on the English bowlers during the latter part of the day. He found an able partner in the form of Jayant Yadav and the duo batted out the stipulated overs in the day to put India in a position of strength. With an overall lead of 51 runs, India would look to add 100 more runs on Day 4 morning before putting the visitors in.

Twitteratti were pretty active throughout the day’s play and certain tweets described the match scenario in the best possible way. Here are some of the best tweets.
