The Kolkata Knight Riders took on the Rising Pune Supergiants in an interesting contest at the Eden Gardens. Captain MS Dhoni won toss as RPS elected to bat first. While KKR had Sunil Narine coming in for them, Irfan Pathan and Murugan Ashwin were brought in by the RPS.

Batting first, Supergiants didn’t have a great start as they lost both openers Ajinkya Rahane and Usman Khawaja early. George Bailey looked to take RPS through but he hardly got any support from the other batsman. Irfan Pathan had to sacrifice his wicket for MS Dhoni who also struggled to accelerate.

At the end, it was a quite dismal performance by the RPS batting lineup. Piyush Chawla was the pick of the bowlers tonight with figures of 2/21. They scored 103/6 in 18 overs before the match was delayed due to rain. Kolkata Knight Riders got a revised target of 66 runs from 9 overs which seemed like a cakewalk for them.

However, Ravichandran Ashwin sent back both Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir in the first over and gave RPS some hopes. Then, Yusuf Pathan took on Ashwin in third over as KKR got 22 runs from the over, thus achieving a comfortable victory by 8 wickets with 4 overs to spare.

Yusuf deservingly won the man of the match for his splendid 37 from 18 balls. Twitter kept everyone entertained with some superb tweet throughout the RPS-KKR game. Right from lauding KKR spinners to trolling RPS batting, right from lauding Yusuf Pathan to trolling RPS bowlers, here are some of the Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the game:
