Bihar, Jharkhand, and Mumbai remain the only unbeaten sides in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as the group stages of the prestigious 50-over tournament came to a close on Thursday. Mumbai, Delhi, Andhra, Maharashtra and Hyderabad from Elite Group A & B, Jharkhand and Haryana from Elite Group C, Bihar from the Plate division made it to the final eight stages.

Jharkhand locked horns in their final game against Services, who were aiming to finish their decent season on a high. Batting first, they posted a pretty decent 290 runs on the board with the half-centuries coming from Saurabh Tiwary, Kumar Deobrat and Anukul Roy.

In reply, Varun Aaron and Anukul Roy ran riot with the ball. The veteran pacer has had a wonderful tournament and his exploits alongside Roy helped Jharkhand bowl Services out for 265 runs. Rahul Singh and Rajat Paliwal scored the fifties but failed to get their side over the line.

Irfan Pathan shines as J&K register a big win

Jammu & Kashmir finished their mediocre campaign on a high with a brilliant win against Assam. Batting first, the side led by Parvez Rasool ended up notching 272 runs with half-centuries coming from Ahmed Bandy and Shubham Khajuria.

Irfan Pathan starred with a spectacular spell for his new domestic side as he returned with three crucial wickets. Skipper Amit Sinha fought till the end, but his 108-ball 81 could only get them to 193 runs, which earned J&K a 79-run win.

Gujarat and Bengal played out quite a thrilling match, but the former managed to win the game comfortably in the end. Priyank Panchal scored a fifty as Gujarat scored 214 runs batting first. Rush Kalaria chipped with a brilliant spell for Parthiv Patel and troops as they restricted Bengal to 173 runs.

Assam: 193 all out in 48.2 overs (Amit Sinha 81; Irfan Pathan 3/37)

Result: Jammu & Kashmir won by 79 runs

Bengal vs Gujarat, Elite Group C

Gujarat: 214/9 in 50 overs (Priyank Panchal 50; Pradipta Pramanik 2/36)

Bengal: 173 all out in 44.2 overs (Rush Kalaria 3/31)

Result: Gujarat won by 39 runs
