Virat Kohli making most of the time away from cricket with wife Anushka Sharma
Virat is on a break as the BCCI decided to rest him for the Nidahas Trophy 2018.
It is seldom that Team India is playing a series or in fact, even a match and Virat Kohli isn’t on the field. But ahead of the Nidahas Trophy 2018, a T20 tri-series that involves Sri Lanka and Bangladesh as the two other teams the Indian selectors decided to rest Virat. Most of the players were just back after a hectic tour of South Africa and thus the seniors were rested.
Not just Kohli but wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni, pace bowling duo Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and chinaman Kuldeep Yadav were excluded from the team to give them a breather. All these players will be soon featuring for their respective clubs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) which is a month and a half of non-stop cricket. Thus the rest was much needed.
Making the best use of his time, Virat is with his family. Earlier this week he had shared an image that showed the view from his dream apartment in Worli with the Arabian sea just at the footsteps. Today he posted a picture with wife Anushka Sharma and another friend while chilling once again at home.
He wrote – “Chilling and how!”
IPL time
The 29-year-old will be leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore yet again in the 11th season of the IPL. They will start their campaign against the Kolkata Knight Riders on the second day of the league – April 8.
It will be a huge challenge for Kohli to ensure RCB end up with the trophy this time. They’ve always had the team eligible to win with the likes of Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and himself forming the top three but the trophy has managed to elude them in the first decade. Having established himself as an extremely successful skipper at the highest level it is time Kohli gives the fans in Bangalore the much awaited moment of joy bringing the glory home.
