Virat Kohli names his favourite hero on and off the field
Kohli also talked about his favourite weekend getaway.
Indian captain Virat Kohli loves luxury cars as it can be understood by his diverse collection of cars. His association with Audi the German automobile manufacturer has been a long one and on Wednesday, he unveiled the second generation Audi RS 5 Coupe. He, in fact, is the first owner of this car in India. This is among the various RS branded vehicles owned by Virat.
His garage also features an RS6, A8 L, R8 V10 and Q7. He also owns a range of luxury vehicles from other brands like Bentley Continental GT and Range Rover Vogue. Rahil Ansari, head of Audi India, said the brand attracts achievers who are young or young at heart and therefore the company is happy that Kohli is its customer as well.
On his association with Audi, Kohli said, “It has been really good. I am launching all the new cars, can’t ask for anything more. I am a big fan of luxury cars, both sedans and SUVs. Usually for everyday travel, I prefer to be sitting in a SUV but on other occasions, I prefer sedans more. I definitely do like luxury cars,” he added.
Favourite weekend getaway
During an interaction at the event, Kohli was asked about his favourite weekend getaway, to which Kohli said, “I haven’t had many opportunities to have such a getaway because if I have a weekend off, I prefer to be at home and just relax.” But he also added that an ideal situation he would like to drive to an outhouse in his favourite car on a nice road listening to great music.
He is often compared to Sachin Tendulkar but Kohli has always maintained that the legend was in a different league altogether and it is not fair to compare him to his idol and inspiration. He may well be on his route to break Sachin’s record in ODIs but if anything, he will only attribute it to the inspiration Tendulkar gave him. Commenting on his favourite hero on and off the field, Kohli said, “He is obviously Sachin Tendulkar.”
