Watch: Mohammad Hafeez and Rafatullah Mohammad convert a run into a run-out
Watch: Mohammad Hafeez and Rafatullah Mohammad convert a run into a run-out: Pakistan cricket and its romantic chemistry with run-outs seems to be a never-ending affair. Every time you see a confusing, how could this happen? This is it and it’s the most hilarious, run-out they come up with an upgraded version of it. If Umar Akmal’s run-out in the T20I wasn’t enough, senior pro, Mohammad Hafeez decided to get out in similar manner.
Batting first England struggled initially but gave Pakistan a target of 155 to take a consolation win in the series. Pakistan were 1 down on 8 runs as Hafeez took strike against David Willey on the 2nd ball of the 2nd over, it was a straight delivery and he drove it well between covers and mid-off for at least a couple. He ran for the second run instinctively as Rafatullah also took a start, but as he saw James Vince and Eoin Morgan combine to put up a brilliant fielding effort he stopped there and started the return journey back into his end of the crease.
The stumps at the bowler’s end were dislodged and like the spectators even the umpire’s looked unsure about which batsman was out. It was left to the third umpire to check who among the two batsmen was closer to the end where the stumps were broken. Replays showed that Hafeez had not crossed Rafatullah at the time when the run out was affected and thus it was the all-rounder who was declared out.
