Indian limited overs skipper MS Dhoni was at the open press meet ahead of the BCCI Awards 2015 and India’s tour of Australia. On the same day 15-year old Pranav Dhanawade from Kalyan, Mumbai had broken an 116-year old record and registered the highest individual score in any form of recognized cricket. Playing for his school KC Gandhi team in an MCA organized U16 contest against Arya Gurukul school he played a sublime knock and scored 1009 runs unbeaten from 327 balls with the help of 129 fours and as many as 59 sixes.

The world was at its feet to acknowledge Pranav’s record and praise the teenager for his humongous effort. Indian skipper MS Dhoni was also asked how he sees the historic achievement by the kid. Dhoni said, “He must be a very special kid, he be practicing a lot to do something like that. I would have got bored batting for so long.”

He further emphasized on Pranav Dhanawade’s knock saying, “I don’t think he scored it by ones and twos he hit a lot of sixes so that’s again a good sign which means he is picking the right deliveries to hit and also he is calculating his batting. It’s something that’s quite rare, we have seen batsmen who can really hit or somebody who is very sound but to have that mix is something that is very rare.

The Indian skipper also wished him luck and said he expects him to continue doing well, “It’s good I wish him all the very best and hopefully he will doing well.” He said.

A word for himself from the Indian skipper should definitely boost Pranav’s confidence even more and now the entire cricketing universe is eager to see how the boy shapes his cricket form here on.
