Watch: Virat Kohli shows off his rolling cover-drive skills
The class of Virat Kohli has ensured that India has now made their way into the semifinal of the World T20. They now take on the might and the big hitting of the West Indies at Mumbai. While most of the nation have been witness to the amazing stroke-making on show from the irresistible Virat Kohli, the latter took some time off to show-off his extraordinary rolling cover-drive skills.
Making an appearance on a go-Karting race track for MRF, Virat Kohli showed one and all his ability to strike the ball through a couple of karting tyres. It was almost like a shooting gallery, where each time the shooter shouts pull, the target is flung into the air. With a couple of balls in his left hand and his trusted weapon, the bat in his right, Kohli took the daunting challenge head-on. “Roll’ he exclaimed as the first tyre was dispatched along the breadth of the track. It seemed child’s play as he got the ball through both tyres, underlining an important shot in his armory.
However, within the aura of the cricket field, Kohli showed his class with very real and very full-blooded cover drives. Whether he is playing against Mohammad Amir or even the likes of James Faulkner or Nathan Coulter-Nile, Kohli’s class, skill and finesse are something of a fairytale. He slams with authority and something comparable with one of the best sights in cricket. His amazing 82 off just 51 balls while ensuring India’s safe passage to the semifinals of the tournament.
