Wayne Parnell to undergo heart tests after feeling unrest during a match

Parnell is a part of the South African team that is scheduled to play an ODI series in England and has also been included in the squad for the Champions Trophy.

South African fast bowler Wayne Parnell who is representing Kent in the Royal London One-Day Cup featured in the match against Somerset last night at Taunton. Somerset won the toss and invited Kent to bat first, in the second inning, Parnell after bowling just four over from his quota went off the field. He wasn’t injured but reportedly experienced some unrest.

He felt tightness around the chest area and also had an abnormally fast pulse rate. Parnell didn’t take part in the game any further as a precautionary measure. It is also learnt that the cricketer has a history of cardio vascular issues and will undergo tests at a local hospital today suggested a report in TheTimes.co.uk.

Kent posted 352/6 in 50 overs Alex Blake as scored a century that came of a mere 46 deliveries along with Daniel Bell-Drummond who also got a hundred though a slower one but his 106 off 120 deliveries gave them a base to manage the kind of total they eventually did. In response, Somerset managed to chase down the total with 4 wickets in hand to a securing their third win in as many matches in the tournament.

Parnell is a part of the South African team that is scheduled to play an ODI series in England and has also been included in the squad for the Champions Trophy. Cricket South Africa will have a close eye on his health condition and will also want to assess the test results.

England had recently lost a promising young batsman James Taylor to a heart condition which ruled him out of playing cricket and had to announce a premature retirement.
