Pakistan Super League 2020 was a huge success although it didn’t end on a good note due to Coronavirus outbreak. But, one thing that went into the corner of Pakistan was the emergence of some new talented cricketers that can become the future stars at the international stage.
PSL 2020 was special for Pakistan as it was the first time that the league was getting organized in its mother country. Even the overseas players also came one step forward and travelled to Men in Green country in order to be part of the cricketing extravaganza.
In the presence of some high-profile T20 specialists like Shane Watson, Jason Roy, Alex Hales and Liam Livingstone, it was a difficult task for the other players to hogged the spotlight towards them. However, they managed it quite brilliantly on the back of some brilliant performances in the tournament.

Meanwhile, there was Shadab Khan, who leads the spin bowling attack of the team in international cricket emerged as the surprise package for everyone. Mostly, he gets into the headlines due to his brilliance with the ball. But, this time his batting turned out to be the main reason behind him hitting the headlines.
Shadab mustered a total of 263 runs in nine games for Islamabad United with the help of three magnificent fifties at a strike rate of 159.39. It was a bit surprising to watch a spinner smashing the bowlers in such a fashion.
Now, Aakash Chopra, the former Indian cricketer has opened up saying over the same. He said that Shadab Khan was the best player in PSL 2020 for him as he batted exceedingly well although he took only eight wickets with the ball. He also added that Babar Azam also did well with the bat throughout the tournament and ended up being the top scorer in PSL 2020 with 345 runs in 10 games with three half-centuries.
‘‘Shadab Khan was player of the tournament for me. Even though he took only eight wickets, but he batted really well, so well done to Shadab and our Adaab to you. Babar Azam has been absolutely brilliant. He is scoring runs consistently and was the highest run-scorer in this season,” Aakash Chopra said as quoted by The Express Tribune.
