James Anderson, at the age of 39 still has the passion to give it all for his country, and he will once again be looking to get the better of Indian batting talisman, Virat Kohli. The guile of Stuart Broad versus the stoic defense of Cheteshwar Pujara will be another contest to watch out for.

England will miss the services of their all-rounder Ben Stokes, who has taken a break from cricket to deal with mental health issues. Jofra Archer is also dealing with an elbow injury, and will not be available for this series.

For India, Mayank Agarwal suffered a blow to the head and will miss the first Test. Also, Washington Sundar and Avesh Khan suffered injuries in the warm-up match, and will not take part in the series.

India will likely play only one spinner in the side, and Ravindra Jadeja might get the nod ahead of Ravichandran Ashwin. The four pacers who will take the field are Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj.
