World cup Match 6 Group A preview: New Zealand vs Scotland: New Zealand has furthered their claim for the World cup crown by beating the Sri Lankans comfortably in the opening game of the tournament. Scotland will be making their first appearance in the world cup after the 1999 edition in England. Here is preview for the match.
Scotland:
Scots would be hoping to make a great impression in their first match in World cup since 1999. They are coming off a disappointing tri-series in Dubai where they managed to win just one match in the tournament.
They have form in their team with Captain Peter Mommsen, Richie Berrington, Calum MacLeod in good touch with the bat. They have Gardiner, Machan to lend the support in the middle order. Their bowling rests on Iain Wardlaw, Majid Haq, and Josh Davey.
New Zealand:
New Zealand has been in the form of their life and would be looking to win the match in quick time in order to gain valuable net run rate advantage. They should bowl first and dismiss Scotland for a low score and chase it in quick time.
This will also give New Zealand a chance to play with their batting order and try Ross Taylor at the top to give him batting practice. They can also try Adam Milne in order to keep him match fit for future clashes in the tournament.
