Captains Speak:
Mashrafe Mortaza: ‘We would have bowled, but we need to bat well now. Both bowlers were bowling well (Taskin and Sunny), it is really tough, but we will look to do well. Tamim is ill, he will not play. The two new guys, Shuvagata Hom and Saqlain Sajib will play, so will Al-Amin. Mustafizur is in as well’.
Steven Smith: ‘We will bowl. Looks like a pretty good wicket, it’s a good chasing wicket. It was very humid, might be some dew later on. We learnt a lot from our last game, we can only improve tonight, need to execute our skills, play the way we do and hopefully we will have some success. Hastings for Agar.’
Pitch Report: ‘There is a little bit of grass, that should assist the seamers. It will turn later on, but there are runs on this pitch. We had a packed house yesterday, but today being a weekday, not many people in the stands – that was expected though. Kaushik tells me that Hastings and Coulter-Nile have marked their run-ups. Does it mean Hastings for Agar? For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rehman is expected to be back. Toss and team details in a while..
TOSS: Australia has won the toss and have opted to field
This match is very important for both Australia and Bangladesh. Both began their Super 10 stage campaign on a losing note. The Aussies lost a thriller to the Kiwis at the Dharamsala whereas Bangladesh lost to Pakistan. However, today is the chance for both the teams to open their account in the points table.
For both the teams, this will be a must-win game in order to stay alive in the tournament and increase their chance of advancing to the semi-final. Yesterday’s game between Sri Lanka and West Indies saw spin playing a huge roles and the same is expected to the case today. So, expect the same today as well.
