'You can call me tomorrow' - Jemimah Rodrigues gives a hilarious reply to Katy Perry about India's Playing XI for the final
India Women side was seen to be laughing and sharing a light moment with Katy Perry ahead of the final.
Katy Perry, the American Pop singer will be performing during the Women’s T20 World Cup final to be held on 8th March, Sunday which also happens to be Women’s Day.
Perry spent some time interacting with the Indian players day before the historic final. They all had a good laugh and were seen sharing some funny comments with each other, courtesy of the photos and videos shared by ICC. It was helpful for India Women to take a bit of time off the game, to just relax and keep their mind fresh as they walk out to challenge the defending champions in the finals.
When asked about India’s playing XI for the final, Perry received a rather light and humorous reply from Jemimah Rodrigues. “You can call me tomorrow, I can tell you,” she said. Veda Krishnamurthy was however subtle in replying that she was rule-bounded to keep that information within the team.
Perry also questioned if like in basketball, acting team players could be dynamically changed. She was then clarified that in cricket a definite playing XI would be predefined before the commencement of the match.

The official Twitter account of the T20 World Cup shared the video and wrote– “Not even @katyperry is allowed to know the India team for tomorrow.”
India Women side was seen to be laughing and sharing a light moment with Katy Perry. This is a good sign, as they need to be relaxed and treat the final as another game they have to dominate and win. The pressure of a maiden final can certainly get into the nerves of certain players and affect their performance.
Team India will be facing the defending champions who are in red-hot form in the tournament. However, India will go into the game knowing the fact that they defeated the Australian team in the group stage match. Furthermore, Harmanpreet Kaur will be the first Indian captain to lead the Indian side to a World T20 final.
