'You will always be my captain' - BCCI releases video of Virat Kohli paying tribute to MS Dhoni
Earlier on Saturday, he penned down a long message for MS Dhoni.
Tributes continue to pour in for MS Dhoni who announced retirement on Saturday when India celebrated its 74th Independence Day. The man did it in the most unusual way posting a video on Instagram which depicted his whole journey in international cricket with his favourite Bollywood song playing in the background.
Soon after his retirement, the current and former cricketers reminisced the times he smothered the bowling attacks with his batting and also led the country to three ICC trophies. But the relation between him and Virat Kohli is completely different. The latter respects him so much and is like an elder brother to him. Kohli penned down an emotional message on Twitter and Instagram as well for him admitting that he became emotional.
The current Indian skipper has now got another message for MS Dhoni and this time he is short of words to speak about his captain. He also remembered the time when Dhoni sat at the last seat in the bus without talking much, however, his presence meant a lot to the team.
“Words fall short a lot of times in life and I think, this is one of those moments. All I can say is to me, you’ve always been the guy who sat in the last seat of the bus not saying much but your presence, your aura saying a lot. For me, you’ve always been that guy and I am sure you will continue to be so,” he said.
We’ve shared a great camaraderie, friendship – Virat Kohli on MS Dhoni
Virat Kohli expressed his pleasure to have shared the dressing room with MS Dhoni. He also said that they had the same goal when they took the field together and that was to help the team win. He also reiterated the fact once again stating that the veteran cricketer will always be his captain.
“We’ve shared great camaraderie, friendship, understanding and that has happened because we always played for the same goal, same reason that is to make the team win. It’s been a pleasure playing alongside you and under you initially in my career. You have shown faith and belief in me which I will always be grateful for. And I wish you the best in this next phase of your life and lot of peace and lot of happiness.
“I’ve always said this and will say it again. You will always be my captain,” Virat Kohli further added while wishing MS Dhoni the best in the second innings of his life.
