Younis Khan mocks Pakistan's bench-strength by showing empty chair
Meanwhile, Shoaib Akhtar went to question PCB's decision of giving full power and authority.
The 3-match T20I series did not turn out the way, Pakistan had expected. A young Sri Lankan unit backed by performances from Danushka Gunathilaka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Nuwan Pradeep, Kasun Rajitha and Isuru Udana spearheaded by the inspiring leadership of Dasun Shanaka, the visitors wrapped up the T20I series in the second game itself.
In the 2nd T20I, Bhanuka Rajapaksa showed another glimpse of his precious talent, scoring a 48-ball 77 to lead the visitors to a match-winning total of 6-182. Pakistan’s batting was the usual tail of brain fade, reckless shot-making that led to them eventually falling short of the target by 35 runs.
This is the third consecutive T20I series loss for Pakistan in 2019, and considering the fact that they were well beaten by a No.7 ranked side who was feeding its bench-strength, the loss had drawn criticism from a lot of former Pakistani cricketers. On Shoaib Akhtar’s YouTube Channel, analyst Dr. Nouman Niaz, former captain Younis Khan and Akhtar himself ripped apart the PCB’s policies and the bench-strength of the team.

Opening the show, Dr. Nouman compared Pakistan’s bench strength with that of India’s, citing examples of how Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill is not able to break into the Indian set-up, and also went on to ask Younis about their bench-strength.
In what was a hilarious reply, Younis mocked the bench-strength by showing an empty chair. Meanwhile, Shoaib Akhtar went to question PCB’s decision of giving full power and authority.
“Pakistan cricket will never improve by giving one person the entire power and responsibility. You can save money by appointing one person as Coach and selector, but things will only improve when the board will look for people who have an eye for talent,” Akhtar said.
Akhtar also went on to praise Sourav Ganguly on how he instilled a cutting edge to the Indian set-up while also complementing the BCCI for involving former cricketers like Rahul Dravid into the coaching set-up, urging the PCB to take lessons from its counterparts.
The former fast bowler also lamented on the fact that how Indian bowlers (Read: Shami) approach him for tips and his own countrymen don’t.
