Yuvraj sends birthday wishes to Ravi Shastri, Shastri wishes back luck for CT 2017
Shastri turned 55 on May 27 this year.
Veteran Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh took to social media site Twitter to send warm birthday wishes to former Indian cricketer and team director Ravi Shastri. Shastri turned 55 on May 27 this year. Wishes came in flooding from the cricket fraternity for the former stalwart of Indian cricket. There were a few like Yuvraj who had direct wishes for Shastri, and then were others like Virender Sehwag who wished him in their own swag.
Yuvraj was very humble and modest in his birthday wishes for Shastri. He hoped that the blessings of the almighty be with Ravi Shastri and ended with a note saying he will always be Shastri’s junior. “Many happy returns of day senior @RaviShastriOfc god bless you best wishes always junior,” tweeted Yuvraj Singh.
Shastri’s response
In reply to the tweet, Ravi Shastri wrote back acknowledging the warm regards. He asked Yuvraj to take a brandy shot and get well soon. Yuvraj is currently in England with the national side. The Indian team is practicing hard for the upcoming edition of the ICC Champions Trophy. Incidentally, Yuvraj was down with fever recently. As a result of the same, he had to miss out the team practice session on Friday.
Albeit the team management believes that he will be fine in a day, there are some reports that suggest Yuvraj Singh is likely to miss the first warm-up match against New Zealand. The match is scheduled to be played on May 28. Shastri certainly wants Yuvi to be fit again and perform heavily in the ICC mega event.
“Hey Junior. Many thanks. Have a shot of brandy. Get well soon and kick some serious butt in the coming weeks. Senior,” Ravi Shastri tweeted in reply.
Team India will be starting their campaign in the tournament against Pakistan. Their encounter with the arch rivals will be played on June 4 at Birmingham.
