Former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan backed limited overs skipper MS Dhoni to continue with his role. He said “Winning and losing is a part of the game. It’s something all the best captains have experienced. But they have all taken their teams to the next level, which Dhoni has done.”

The retired cricketer also went on to say that Virat Kohli’s aggressive style in the game will surely help the team in future. Zaheer Khan, who called time on his international career with 311 Test wickets and 282 scalps in the shorter format also hinted on taking the top job of coaching at some point in his life.

Khan said, “At some stage, I will consider the option of coaching. I don’t know where, but it’s something I will do. I feel that whatever knowledge you gain, it must always be passed to the next generation of cricketers.”

The former Indian cricketer also passed on some valuable tips to the budding cricketers. He said, “What I believe from my experience is that youngsters should always back their abilities. For those who want to be a Zaheer Khan or any sports personality, they must have that belief in themselves.”

He even made a point on how essential education is while dealing with fitness and injury problems. Youngsters need the right advice when dealing with fitness and injury problems. Their nutritional advice, training, physiotherapy – they all need to be on the same platform,” said Zaheer.

He has been keeping an eye on the Gujarat side that includes fast bowlers like Rush Kalaria and Jasprit Bumrah. “I’ve seen many talented players round the country. In Gujarat, there is plenty of potential as well. But they should not let minor injuries affect their careers,” the 37-year-old signed off.
