Nothing is going Kuldeep Yadav’s way currently. The slow-left-arm chinaman bowler who did not play a single game during the recently concluded five-match T20I series against New Zealand has been left out the Indian Test squad for the two-match Test matches beginning on February 21st at Basin Reserve, Wellington.

To add to it, the 25-year-old had a forgettable outing during the first ODI at Hamilton in which he went for 84 runs despite picking up two wickets. The Kanpur-born spinner who managed just three wickets in three ODIs against Australia at home last month proved costly (economy of 8.84) at Seddon Park during New Zealand’s chase despite dismissing Tom Blundell and skipper Tom Latham.

Chahal who featured in all five T20Is against the Kiwis managing three wickets might be drafted into the XI for the second ODI at Auckland. With another left-arm spinner already in the ranks and proving his worth the ball, India might be tempted to bring in Chahal who last played an ODI back in August 2019 at Eden Park.
