Since the dawn of this century, the presentation ceremonies have been an integral aspect of the gentlemen’s game. It’s a part of the game where the fans get to know the thoughts of their favorite cricketers. Thereafter the players are also rewarded for their match-winning efforts. In simple terms, a presentation ceremony is a sign of a quality cricketing tournament.

Even the IPL follows the norm as they have a plethora of awards at the end of every game. From the “Man of the Match” to the “Best Catch of the Match”, every individual who makes some valuable contributions to a particular game is rewarded accordingly. Moreover, the fans also get to share some moments with their favorite cricketers as a part of contests organized by the league. Hence the presentation ceremonies are an important facet of the IPL.

However, they might not be conducted in the 2020 IPL due to the fear of coronavirus. Being a contagious disease it can spread very easily. Even activities like shaking hands and sharing the mic can cause serious problems. So it will be wise to avoid such ceremonies keeping in mind the safety of players.
