5 Personal milestones MS Dhoni missed after taking international retirement
The captain cool had enough under his belt in all these years, and he left the field with all the satisfaction.
3. 450 ODI dismissals
Having 350 ODI matches and bringing significant 10,773 runs for the home side, MS Dhoni’s contribution to the format will always remain unmatchable. Ending India’s drought of WC trophy for 28 long years, the hero got it for his country in the year 2011 at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.
He led the team in the same format from 2007 and stepped down in 2017 before a series against England. However, he had 444 dismissals under his belt in ODIs before he stepped down from the format on August 15, 2020. Had he extended his career a bit long, he would have definitely got 450 dismissals to his credit.
Dhoni’s 183* against Sri Lanka in Jaipur in the year 2005 stunned opponents, and it remains to be his personal best ODI score. He has ten centuries and 73 half-centuries on his name in this format of the game.
