Dhoni has backed bowlers to come back stronger in second spells after going for runs at the start, eg Bumrah against Bangladesh. But Ravichandran Ashwin did not receive that vote of trust after his two overs which went for 20. Ashwin had Simmons out caught by Bumrah at backward point but it was off a no ball. His two overs instead went to Kohli, who dismissed Johnson Charles with his first ball of the tournament. Kohli was given the last over to bowl however it was a poor call from the skipper. R Ashwin should have bowled the last over being a seasoned campaigner and a proven match-winner. Kohli is not a regular bowler hence, it made little sense in giving him the deciding over.
