6 New India entrants in BCCI's annual contract list
Most of the names in the list feature in the Grade C category.
Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer made his debut back in December 2017. But it was only after India’s away series against the West Indies last year that he stayed featuring consistently in the national team. He made his return after India’s campaign in the 2019 World Cup and he hasn’t flattered to deceive.
The Mumbai cricketer began with scores of 71, 65, 70 and 53 against the Caribbeans to mark his comeback spree. Going forward, he would dearly wish to convert his fifties into triple figures. The youngster is also being seen as an answer to India’s ever-lasting number four conundrum.
Iyer has chipped in with some useful knocks even in the T20I format. In BCCI’s contract, he has been put into Grade C. Iyer has put himself forward as a strong contender for a berth in the T20 World Cup later this year.
