Approaching milestones for Pakistan players

Pakistan had good 2015 as a team,; though they were knocked out of the world cup quarterfinals by eventual champions Australia. They worked out their way thereafter and had a successful year wherein they played 8 Tests, won 5, lost 1 while a couple ended in a draw. Pakistan also found success in the 50 overs formats, playing 10 ODIs they won 6, lost 3 and one of it was a tie while in the T20Is they took the field in 27 matches picking up 12 wins but lost 14 matches and one ended in a draw. As Pakistan begins their next assignment against New Zealand in January, Let’s have a look at the Approaching milestones for Pakistan players: 1. Wahab Riaz: Wahab Riaz. (© Getty Images) Wahab Riaz emerged as the most talked about bowler from Pakistan this year. He surprised everyone with his guile and never say die attitude, which he displayed with a couple of inspiring spells during the year. After a newly found image since his historic spell in the World Cup, Riaz will now look forward to building upon it and achieve some feats. – He is 7 wickets short of 100 ODI wickets. (© Getty Images) Sarfraz Ahmed, the wicketkeeper-batsman did not have a huge reputation coming into the year, but by the time the calendars change he has grown in stature and cemented his position as a regular this year. – Sarfraz is 1 catch short of 50 catches in ODIs. 3. Ahmed Shehzad: Ahmed Shehzad. (Photo Source: AFP) Though he is inconsistent, he has been an integral part of the team and is looking forward to achieving some milestones in the shorter format. – Shehzad is 92 runs short of 1000 runs in T20Is. – He needs to hit 2 fours to get to the record of scoring 100 boundaries in T20Is. 3. The driving force of Pakistan is now eyeing some achievements. – Akmal needs 7 sixes to get to 50 sixes in T20Is. – He is 5 matches away from making it his 200th international appearance. 4. Shoaib Malik: (© INEKE ZONDAG/AFP/Getty Images) Shoaib Maik wasn’t quite in the scheme of things at the start of the year, but he made a remarkable comeback towards the end and called it time from Test cricket after scoring a double ton. After a dream comeback, Malik looks set to break some records. – 5 fours more and he will have 100 boundaries in T20Is. – He is just 3 fifties short of 50 half centuries in international cricket. 5. Shahid Afridi: Shahid Afridi. (© Getty Images) ‘Boom Boom’ Shahid Afridi had a considerably good 2015 and is going strong to better his records in the coming time. Afridi also has a number of achievements waiting for him. – 7 fours more and he will have 100 boundaries in T20Is. – He is 12 wickets short of becoming the first ever player to take 100 T20I wickets. 6. Mohammed Hafeez: Mohammad Hafeez. (Photo Source: Associated Press) The crafty senior batsman has time and again swung the game in favor of Pakistan and will look to continue to achieve new feats. – Hafeez is 4 wickets short of 50 T20I wickets. Will become the only player after Afridi to have a combo of 1000 runs and 50 wickets in T20Is. (Banned from bowling till July) – 4 fifties more and he will have 50 half-centuries in international cricket. 7. Younis Khan: (© Getty Images) Probably the greatest batsman to have played for Pakistan in the Test format, Younis Khan now looks forward to stamping his authority over some records. – He needs to hit just 18 more fours to have 1000 fours in Tests. – 2 MOM awards and he will equal Imran Khan for the Pakistani record of most MOMs in international cricket. – He is 193 runs short of 17000 runs in international cricket. 8. Azhar Ali: Azhar Ali. (Photo Source: AFP) Azhar Ali the Pakistan ODI captain has not just impressed fans and critics with his batting but has also won over the hearts for his calm approach towards his game. – Ali needs just 2 more catches to complete 50 catches in Tests.
