Top 7 Bowlers who have dismissed most batsmen in T20Is

T20 matches give a thrilling and electrifying experience to the spectators as well as the players. Some bowlers specialise in this format and are highly effective and prolific wicket-takers. In T20Is, the players compete less often and it is difficult to take wickets in bunches. It would be obviously interesting to figure out the number of different batsmen a bowler has managed to dismiss out of the total wickets he has taken in his T20 career. So, here we try to list the bowlers who have taken the most number of various batsmen (minimum 50 wickets). 7. Dale Steyn – 50: Dale Steyn of South Africa. Injuries might have hampered his performances in recent years, but he still possesses same threat which he used to have while at his prime. Steyn has played 38 T20Is so far for the Proteas and has taken 55 wickets. The amazing part of his wicket taking ability is that out of the 55 wickets, 50 have been of different batsmen. 6. He has also led the English team in the shortest format of the game. Broad has played 56 T20Is in his career. He has 65 wickets at an average of 22 runs apiece. He has taken 66 wickets in just 39 matches at a stunning average of 14.42 with his bagful of bowling tricks. Out of these wickets, Mendis has dismissed 58 different batsmen. 4. He too has the tag of being a T20 specialist. Malinga is the most preferred death overs bowler and most of his wickets have come in the death overs. Slinga has dismissed 63 different batsmen in his T20I career thus far. 3. Umar Gul – 69: Umar Gul of Pakistan. Gul spearheaded Pakistan’s bowling attack few years back and has played 58 T20I for Pakistan taking 83 wickets at an impressive average of 16.71. Out of them, Gul had 69 different victims. 2. The Pakistan off-spinner remained a mystery unconquered for the batsmen around the world across formats. He took 85 wickets with his deceptive bowling in 64 matches. 70 wickets out of which were new batsmen. 1. Shahid Afridi – 75: Shahid Afridi. He is currently the leading wicket-taker in Twenty20 International cricket. Generally, Afridi is very economical and is also an able wicket taker. He has played 87 T20Is and has taken 88 wickets.
