Legends League Cricket 2024
LLC 2024 will kick off with Konark Suryas Odisha taking on defending champions Manipal Tigers on September 20 at Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur. A total of six teams will be featuring in the tournament this time around as the winner of the first edition, India Capitals will begin their journey on September 21 against 2023 runner-up Urbanrisers Hyderabad while Southern Superstars will play their first game against Gujarat Giants on the following day.
The tournament will begin in Jodhpur and move to Surat next, followed by Jammu and Srinagar. Four teams will be qualifying for the playoffs, where the first and second finished teams will be playing Qualifier 1 while the third and fourth finished teams will be playing the Eliminator. The winner of the Eliminator will be playing the loser of Qualifier 2 and the winner of that game will be the second finalists. The final will be played on September 20.
Meanwhile, Chris Gayle, Shikhar Dhawan, and Mohammad Kaif among other legends will headline the Gujarat squad. Irfan Pathan will lead the Odisha squad and will have Yusuf Pathan, Ross Taylor, and Ambati Rayudu among other legends in the squad.
When it comes to India Capitals, they will miss the service of Gautam Gambhir this year, who has been named as the head coach of the Indian team. Dwayne Smith, Naman Ojha, Murali Vijay, and Ian Bell will headline the team in his absence. Dinesh Karthik has joined Southern Superstars after his retirement. He will have Hamilton Masakadza, Pawan Negi, and Nathan Coulter-Nile among other legends in his squad.
Urbanrisers Hyderabad will have the likes of Suresh Raina, Isuru Udana, and Stuart Binny while the defending champions Manipal Tigers have built a strong squad that has Harbhajan Singh, Robin Uthappa, Thisara Perera, Sheldon Cottrell, and Dan Christian among other legends.
