Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have played only a couple of seasons in the Indian Premier League (IPL) but within these three years, they have delivered some scintillating batting shows to the league’s watchers. However, despite having a strong batting unit, Lucknow are yet to win the title.

In the 2024 IPL edition, LSG will endeavour to play attacking cricket under KL Rahul and lift the distinguished trophy for the first time. Rahul, the skipper of the side, will want his batters to step up in the upcoming competition and deliver solid numbers to the team consistently. Before their first match in the 24th instalment of the cash-rich league, let’s discuss LSG’s five greatest batting performances.

Here are Lucknow Super Giants’ five best batting performances in IPL:

5. Marcus Stoinis’ 72 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in 2023

In 2023, LSG and Punjab Kings (PBKS) met at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium. Winning the toss, Punjab skipper Shikhar Dhawan elected to bowl first and his decision backfired as the visitors scored 257 runs which is the second-highest team total in the history of the league.

LSG got some incredible batting performances from Kyle Mayers, Ayush Badoni, and Nicholas Pooran but it was Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis’ 72-run knock off 40 deliveries that helped Lucknow deliver the huge target to the hosts. Replying to the humongous total, Punjab surrendered on 201 and the Aussie became the Player of the Match.
