WPL 2024: Flop Indian players in the tournament
Ahead of the tournament, some Indian players were expected to play well, however, they fell through and made it to the list of non-performing Indian players of the 2024 WPL.
The 2024 Women’s Premier League (WPL) delivered some memorable moments to cricket fans with its 24-day cricketing action. Eminent Indian players such as Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma, and Jemimah Rodrigues displayed their mettle and proved why they are the best in business.
However, there were also some Indian players who failed to perform upto the expectations and disappointed their teams. Ahead of the tournament, they were expected to fare well, however, they fell through and made it to the list of non-performing Indian players of the 2024 WPL.
Here are 10 flop Indian players of the 2024 WPL:
10. Sneh Rana
Sneh Rana is one of the most experienced players in the Gujarat Giants (GG) squad. She is also the deputy of captain Beth Mooney and her role was to support Ashleigh Garner to strengthen the team’s spin-bowling department. She appeared in four games for Gujarat and got no wickets. Her economy was 10.06 in the tournament.
GG kicked off their journey in the competition with a five-wicket defeat against Mumbai Indians (MI) and she was the most expensive bowler in the game, giving away 21 runs in 2.1 overs at a horrendous economy of 9.69. Her horrendous bowling display impacted Gujarat negatively in the competition.
