After eight matches of the World Cup 2023, all teams have played their maiden game. For some teams, it’s been a decent journey so far while a few teams didn’t get the desired results but will look to make a comeback in the competition to advance to the knockout stage.

Wicketkeeping is one of the crucial departments of the sport and Adam Gilchrist’s keeping contribution (21 dismissals in 10 matches) in Australia’s title triumph in the 2003 World Cup highlights that not only batters and bowlers but wicketkeepers can also make a heavy contribution in a title victory.

This World Cup edition won’t be an exception so all teams will bank on their wicketkeepers as well to lift the distinguished trophy. Discussing more, let’s rate the wicketkeeper from each team on the parameters of experience, skills, and potential.

Here are the ratings of the wicketkeepers of 10 teams in the tournament

10. Mohammad Rizwan- 6.5/10

Mohammad Rizwan’s role is going to be crucial for Pakistan in this tournament. As a batter, his responsibility will be to reinforce his team’s middle order at number four. Along with the bat, Rizwan will have to make an important contribution to the side with his gloves as well. After April 2021, Rizwan completely replaced his senior colleague Sarfaraz Ahmed in Pakistan’s ODI team as a wicketkeeper.

Rizwan is acrobatic behind the wickets which makes him one of the best wicketkeepers of the current times. The 31-year-old has assisted bowlers exceptionally standing behind the stumps, hunting 59 batters (53 catches and three stumpings) in 47 innings of 67 One-Day internationals (ODIs).

The Pakistan team will keep its expectations high from Rizwan as he has played a lot of international cricket in the last three years. However, Rizwan also gets criticised for his lethargic attitude and he is also the one who can’t be trusted when it comes to suggesting a Decision Review System (DRS).
