India will play New Zealand in the second Test at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune from October 24. India were beaten by New Zealand in the first Test at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The hosts made use of the overcast conditions and bowled out them for just 46 runs, their lowest total at home.

Subsequently, they posted a huge total of 402 runs in the first innings, generating a hefty lead of 356 runs as India could only manage to provide a target of 107 batting in the second inning. It took less than a session on Day 5 for the Tom Latham-led side to win a Test match in India after a gap of 36 years. Pune pitch will likely cater for the spinners.

Here are the three changes India might make for the second Test:

Ravichandran Ashwin had an off game in the first Test against New Zealand with both bat and ball. He was not trusted much with the bowl despite the Blackcaps having 3 left-handed batters. According to reports, R Ashwin may not play in the second Test as he is not fit.

BCCI announced that Sundar has been added to the squad ahead of the Pune Test. The bowling all-rounder is coming off notching a spectacular 152 against Delhi in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 game. He batted at number three and said he considers himself the top-order batter after the game. He made his debut in Australia in India's famous Gabba Test win and picked three wickets. He also scored 66 and 22 runs batting down the order.
