3. Jaydev Unadkat

Jaydev Unadkat has been a giant of a player in the domestic circuit. First-class cricket has been his happy hunting ground where he has bagged 370 wickets in 99 matches at an average of 22.65. He has done a decent job in the IPL arena too and took 91 wickets in as many games at an economy of 8.79.

Unadkat set the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 ablaze with his incredible bowling displays. He picked up 19 wickets in 10 matches at an economy of 3.33. Courtesy of the left-arm pacer’s stellar performances, he made a comeback to the Indian Test set-up.

Barring Deepak Chahar, CSK did not have any international quality Indian pacer at their disposal and thus, the four-time IPL champions could have gone after Unadkat, who was in a rich vein of form leading into the 2023 player auction. However, Chennai did not show interest in adding the ace pacer and Jaydev went to Lucknow Super Giants for the 16th IPL edition.
