3. Phil Salt's 87 vs RCB

A match that was hyped for Virat Kohli's homecoming saw Phil Salt taking the limelight with his swashbuckling innings. Except for his 59-run score against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Salt had a forgetful IPL with the bat leading into the game against RCB. 

Chasing a score of 182, on a track that was deemed slow by many experts before the start of the game, saw RCB batters dominate in phases and notch up 181. Phil Salt provided Delhi Capitals with the much-needed start they were looking forward to in the match.

Salt went after every ball delivered at him. The way he pulled one off Josh Hazelwood for a maximum indicated a special innings was brewing. Things got heated in the fifth over when he attacked Siraj with two sixes and one four. Salt continued with the momentum, he casually bagged boundaries off Karn Sharma and Mahipal Lomror's bowling. 

Phil's 45-ball 87 show stole the deal for DC. His batting dominance got them through in the end. Salt looked fearsome against pace bowling, he played most of the shots on the front foot. Later in the post-match presentation, he emphasised the same and about the intent to play positive cricket.
