IPL 2023: Top 5 batting performances from sixth week of tournament
Here are the top 5 batting performances from the sixth week of the IPL.
2. Suryakumar Yadav's 83 vs RCB
In cricket, they say, form is temporary but class is permanent. It is indeed the case, a man who got three golden ducks one after another is now smacking every bowler at his will. After a sedate start to the ongoing season, Suryakumar picked up momentum during the second half. The Mumbai-born got himself in the middle inside powerplay against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Chasing a good enough total of 200 at Wankhede, SKY assessed the condition quite well. He forged a partnership with Nehal Wadhera. On the back of a blistering start given by Ishan Kishan, both Wadhera and Suryakumar got the advantage to get their eyes in before playing aggressive cricket.
After arriving at the crease, Suryakumar took charge and smoked boundaries one after another. He continued to play acrobatic shots, making the bowlers clueless about where to pitch the ball.
Suryakumar went after Mohammed Siraj as he kept dictating the pacer to bowl into his areas of strength. But the big 20-run over against Wanindu Hasaranga sealed the game in Mumbai's favour. Then in the next over against Vijaykumar Vyshak he smoked 16 runs in three balls before getting out to a slower one.
