IPL 2025: 3 Worst fielding teams so far this season
The fans have witnessed some great and poor efforts on the field in the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
1. Punjab Kings - 59% (Catch efficiency)
The Punjab Kings (PBKS) might be scoring big runs with the bat, but they have struggled with both the ball and in the field. This is the biggest reason why the Shreyas Iyer-led side is not in the top four, despite having one of the most balanced squads in the tournament. They also feature some brilliant fielders in the form of Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis, who are among the safest in both franchise and international cricket.
The team is currently known for conceding as many runs in the field as they are scoring with the bat, resulting in a terrible catch efficiency rate of 59% — the lowest in the tournament so far. This is one area Iyer and co. will need to work on as they move forward in the tournament.
