Babar Azam-led team Pakistan have been handed a major injury scare ahead of the high-octane clash against arch rivals India in the T20 World Cup 2022 on October 23, Sunday as their top-order batter Shan Masood dealt with a blow after a ball hit him on the right side of his head during the practice session at the MCG.

According to reports, Masood was rushed to a hospital in Melbourne after Mohammad Nawaz’s shot and ended up smacking the former’s head in the nets. The southpaw was seen down on the ground and remained there for about five to seven minutes. Meanwhile, it is yet to be confirmed whether he will be fit to play in Pakistan's forthcoming fixtures.

On that note, here are three players who could replace injured Shan Masood:

3. Haider Ali

The national side have moved Haider Ali up and down the order to experiment where he could fit well. However, the player has shown glimpses that he can be capable at different positions.

Replacing Masood could be a real possibility considering Haider could play vital cameos for the squad coming after Babar and Rizwan. Ali was seen to play a big part of Pakistan’s Tri-series win over New Zealand recently, striking at over 200 in the third match of the series.

Therefore, in case of Masood's unavailability, Haider could surely keep the score board ticking and be lethal when the side would require some big hitting.
