WPL 2023: 5 youngsters to watch out for
These youngsters will back themselves to showcase their talent and become notable names in the T20 league.
1. Shweta Sehrawat (UP Warriorz)
Following her performance in the Women’s U19 World Cup, UP Warriorz bought Shweta Sehrawat for INR 40 lakh. The 19-year-old scored 297 runs for India in seven matches with three half-centuries and ended up as the leading run-scorer in the competition.
In the high-scoring match against South Africa U-19, Sehrawat took her team home with her marvellous unbeaten 92-run knock. The skilled opening batter also played a crucial knock of 61 off 45 against New Zealand in the semi-final.
Noticing her efficiency as an opener, UP Warriorz might give her the task to open the innings for them along with her captain Alyssa Healy. The 19-year-old has played a few matches for Delhi in the domestic circuit and at the marquee event, she will look to utilise all her experience to be competitive against her opponents.
