Defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) and five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will face each other for the third time in the all-important Qualifier 2 of IPL2023 at the World's Largest Stadium- the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, May 26th 2023.

Gujarat Titans will be coming into the contest, after being toppled by four-time champions Chennai Super Kings in the Qualifier-1 by 15 runs. Since they lost the match in Qualifier-1, GT have one more chance to cement their place in the finals. They lost their game due to very rare batting collapse, and Shubman Gill was the only batter to put up a decent performance as he scored 42 runs, while Rashid Khan, towards the end, scored a 16-ball 30 which helped them only to reduce the margin of defeat.

Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, will be heading into the game, after toppling the third placed Lucknow Super Giants by a massive 81-run margin in the Eliminator of IPL 2023. They registered their first win over LSG in IPL, eventually knocking them out of the contest. Akash Madhwal was the sole reason, as he registered his best bowling figures of 5/5 in 3.3 overs. Since they won the eliminator, they will need one more win to reach their seventh finals in IPL.

For GT, Shubman Gill has been the go-to batter, as he has so far aggregated 722 runs in 15 games at an impressive average of 55.54 and he now needs just nine runs to claim the Orange Cap, while Vijay Shankar, Wriddhiman Saha and Hardik Pandya have all contributed with 301,299 and 297 runs, respectively. In the bowling department, Mohammed Shami holds the key with 26 wickets in 15 matches at an average of 17.35 and he currently holds the Purple Cap. His fellow teammate, Rashid Khan has taken 25 wickets in 15 games at an average of 19. GT will look to bounce back their winning ways, to reach their second consecutive finals.

For MI, Suryakumar Yadav has been their best batter, as he has so far aggregated 544 runs in 15 games at a stupendous average of 41.85, while Ishan Kishan has contributed 454 runs in 15 games, averaging 30.27. Cameron Green too has aggregated 422 runs at a phenomenal average of 52.75. In the bowling department, Piyush Chawla holds the key with 21 wickets in 15 games, while Jason Behrendorff has managed to pick 14 wickets. The young sensation, Akash Madhwal has been very impressive with the ball, picking 13 wickets in 7 games at a strike rate of 9.9. MI would look to carry the winning momentum.
