Babar Azam has been going through a rough patch of form in the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2022 edition and is yet to register a win for the Karachi Kings as the skipper.

The 27-year-old is arguably one of the best batters in the modern-day circuit and has continuously scored runs across formats. The right-hander is a vital cog in the Pakistan setup and the country would want him in form ahead of an important home series against Australia.

Babar, despite the inconsistent form, is fifth in the top run-scorers of the PSL 2022 edition with 268 runs in eight innings at an average of 38.  He has managed two fifties including the unbeaten 90, which could not help his franchise stage a win.

He still is the No. 1 T20I batter in the ICC rankings and it has been one of the ordinary efforts so far from the right-hander considering the amount of talent he possesses. Babar’s father, Azam Siddique, recently opened up on his son’s surprising form in PSL 2022.

Babar Azam’s father hopes for a turnaround soon

Babar Azam’s father Siddique noted that everything will come into the right place soon, after a heavy defeat in the hands of Multan Sultans yesterday in PSL 2022. Babar could manage just two runs in the game and with the loss, the Karachi Kings will not be able to make the playoffs as they are pondering at the bottom of the points table.

“He neither quits down nor does he surrender all expectations regarding Allah’s kindness.” Babar’s father was quoted as saying by Daily Times.

Meanwhile, after the PSL 2022 edition, Australia is scheduled to tour Pakistan for a three-match Test series which will be followed by three ODIs as well. The men in yellow named an 18 man squad for the historic Test series recently and it has to be noted that this will be the first tour of Pakistan for Australia since 1998. Babar will have his task cut out in terms of leading Pakistan to victory at home in the series.
