Matches – 9, Runs –41, Highest Score – 16, Strike Rate – 73.21

The wicket-keeper of India’s Test team, Wriddhiman Saha had received a few opportunities to prove himself in the ODI format during the first phase of this decade. The selectors gave him nine matches to cement his spot as the second wicket-keeper batsman however, he could not.

The Bengal-based player could aggregate only 41 runs in those 9 matches with his highest score being 16. His strike rate of 73.21 shows that he could not live up to the expectations. Thus, the selectors did not give him more chances in the 50-over format.

Saha had made his ODI debut in a match against New Zealand at Guwahati in the year 2010. His last ODI appearance came against Sri Lanka in 2014. The fact that he played only 9 matches in 5 years highlights his inability to play well in the limited-overs format.
