IPL 2015 the best of all the previous editions says Wasim Akram
IPL 2015 the best of all the previous editions says Wasim Akram: According to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) coach and Pakistan pace bowling legend Wasim Akram, this season is the best of all the previous editions of the Indian Premier League (IPL).The eighth edition of IPL is half way through, but no team has managed to book their birth in the playoff.
According him everybody is getting their chances to showcase their skills and the games were not tilted towards the batsmans like in some of the previous seasons.
Akram said: “Good sides are participating and still we do not know who is going to qualify for the top four. So I think this is the most interesting IPL as far as the table is concerned,” Akram said at the pre- match conference.
“It’s part and parcel of T20. If you are a bowler you know you are going to be hit and someday you are going to have good days.”
“This IPL we have seen spinners getting wickets, fast bowlers getting wickets. We have witnessed lot of variation in this IPL compared to the last year. So it means they are also evolving as bowlers,” he said.
The mentor of the KKR said he was happy about the bowling talent in his team and feels that the bowlers have taken the pressure off the team. He also praised skipper Gautam Gambhir for his leadership and coach Trevor Bayliss.
Defending champions KKR have a crucial fixture against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede. The upcoming tie is important for both the teams; to make their claims stronger for a play offs qualification. Their fate hangs in with the result of Thursday’s match.
