He is one player in the domestic circuit who makes it hard to believe that he is uncapped. Initially, Mumbai Indians slotted him in the middle order but the move to open the batting with him since the game against Delhi Daredevils showed how underutilized he was a batsman for his previous franchise Kolkata Knight Riders. So far, his numbers read 43, 28, 53, 0, 72, 34. The only opposition he “failed” against was Royal Challengers Bangalore, courtesy a fiery spell from Umesh Yadav but apart from that, his contribution in all the games has been top.

The fact that Mumbai Indians have lost five out of six games will hurt him, particularly because his individual performance has been nothing short of fantastic. One area he will be looking to improvise on will be the need to convert each start and continue to remain on crease until the job is done because more often than not, MI finds itself depending on the middle order which has looked rusty so far. SKY will be hoping that his rich form and consistency can turn things around for his side in the remaining games.
