Jonty Rhodes’ Twitter account hacked, hackers post Sachin Tendulkar's tweet on his account
The farmers' protests have been hogging the limelight quite a bit over the last few days.
Jonty Rhodes, the former South African cricketer, found himself in a bit of strife recently. Over the years, as social media platforms have become popular, hackers have also been pro-active about how to carry out fraudulent activities. Now the wrongdoers have found a way into Rhodes’ social media platforms. The hackers made their way into Rhodes’ Twitter account.
And they posted one of the tweets, shared by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, the former Indian batsman, the first and only batter with as many as 100 international centuries. On Wednesday, February 3, the Master Blaster dropped a tweet surrounding the talks around the farmers’ protest.
He spoke in support of the central government at a time when popular celebrities like Mia Khalifa, Greta Thunberg, and Rihanna tweeted in support of the protests going around. Sachin was clear cut in saying that India’s “sovereignty cannot be compromised” and the people need to “remain united”.
Sachin took to Twitter and wrote, “India’s sovereignty cannot be compromised. External forces can be spectators but not participants. Indians know India and should decide for India. Let’s remain united as a nation.”
Jonty Rhodes’ account compromised
As far as Rhodes is concerned, he was quick to notice that Sachin’s tweet existed in his official account. The veteran took a screenshot of the same and posted it on his Instagram handle.
He captioned the picture and wrote, “Appears that my Twitter account has been hacked, never had that before.” Rhodes was known as one of the best fielders to have ever played the game.
Earlier even Virat Kohli, the skipper of the Indian team, and Ravi Shastri, Team India’s head coach, tweeted about the farmers’ protest.
“Let us all stay united in this hour of disagreements. Farmers are an integral part of our country and I’m sure an amicable solution will be found between all parties to bring about peace and move forward together. #IndiaTogether,” Virat’s tweet read.
“Agriculture is a very important part of the machinery of the Indian economic system. Farmers are the backbone of any country’s ecosystem. This is an internal matter, which I’m sure will be resolved through dialogue. Jai Hind!” Shastri’s tweet read.
