PAK vs AUS: Pakistan players' ODI series victory celebrations take hilarious turn, video goes viral
Pakistan beat Australia 2-1 in the ODI series.
After a 0-1 defeat in the Test series, and conceding the ODI series opener, a resurgent Pakistan side staged an outstanding comeback to seal the ODI series 2-1 with a comprehensive nine-wicket win in the third and final game at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on April 2. Australia couldn’t do much in the game as the hosts chased down 211 comfortably.
Captain Babar Azam once again led from the front with an unbeaten century as the Men in Green comfortably got past the finish line in a one-sided contest. While this was a well-deserved series win for Pakistan, the players were also ecstatic after they got the better of the five-time ODI World Cup champions. However, it was their exciting celebrations that stood out the most.
Pakistan players and their hilarious celebration
It so happened that the Pakistani players were happily celebrating with the winner’s trophy after a memorable series win against Australia. They were so carried away with the post-match celebrations that the winner’s board fell down suddenly and all the players who were in the front also fell. Luckily, nothing untoward happened and all of them were back on their feet in no time. Nonetheless, the video went viral in no time.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam was adjudged both the Player of the Match as well as the Player of the Series for his outstanding batting performances in the three matches, where he amassed 276 runs including two centuries and a half-century. The batting superstar was also awarded a car for his impactful performances.
“We will take the car for a round or two. You need confidence after losing the first game. The credit goes to the players as they took responsibility and showed good efforts with the ball and the bat. When you get early wickets, there is pressure on the opposition. Almost every bowler of ours executed their plans. There is pressure but you should trust your game. I try to take most of the pressure and back my boy”, said Azam during the post-match presentation.
Coming back to the contest, chasing 211, Pakistan lost opener Fakhar Zaman for 17 after which captain Babar and Imam-ul-Haq added an unbeaten 190-run stand for the second wicket. Azam scored an unbeaten 105 runs from 115 deliveries while Imam remained not out on 89 runs off 100 balls as the Men in Green got past the finish line inside 38 overs.
