Photoshopped image of Taskin Ahmed holding MS Dhoni’s severed head goes viral on the internet
Ahead of the Asia Cup T20 final between hosts Bangladesh and heavyweights India an image of Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed holding a chopped off head of India’s limited overs skipper MS Dhoni has gone viral on the internet.
Both the teams will meet each other in the final at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur tomorrow to decide the first champion of the Asia Cup T20.
The image is believed to have been created by a Bangladesh fan who got so carried away that he forgot how fatuous the act would look.
Though this is an appalling incident this isn’t the first time something so exorbitant has been spread on the social media against the Indian team. Earlier in 2015 when the Indian batsmen struggled against the sensational Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman and mores so against his off-cutters during the tour of Bangladesh so much so that they lost their first ever ODI and T20I series to them.
Right after the series a local newspaper carried the image of players of the Indian cricket team half bald with Mustafizur at the top holding a cutter.
Misusing the social media platforms to spread such stuff and disgracing cricketers does not just put their own team to shame but also is against the basic framework of the game of cricket which has to be played with gentleman’s spirit and conduct.
Fans should certainly be passionate about the game and follow it with their heart but at the same time, should know the boundary they should be within in order to maintain the dignity of the sport.
