This should rank as possibly the best trade in the IPL. In the 2018 IPL season, Quinton De Kock did not experience the best of fortunes. The left-hander could muster just 201 runs in the 8 innings that he played for the Bangalore side at a poor average of 25.13. Also, he managed to score just a single fifty in the whole of the 2018 IPL edition.

As a result, the Bangalore side decided to trade Quinton De Kock to the Mumbai franchise. De Kock was receiving a sum of INR 2.8 Crores from the Bangalore franchise, and Mumbai decided to give the same amount to the left-hander. And, as soon as he put on the Mumbai jersey, De Kock almost metamorphosed into a totally different player.

In the 2019 edition, the left-hander ruled the batting charts, scoring 529 runs and emerged as the highest run scorer for the Mumbai side. The current South Africa skipper continued his excellent run with the willow in the 2020 edition as well. De Kock scored 503 runs at an average of 35.93 and a strike rate in excess of 140.

Needless to say, De Kock played a crucial role in MI winning two consecutive IPL titles (2019 and 2020). The Rohit Sharma-led side has decided to retain him ahead of the upcoming IPL season.
