One of the finest batsmen in modern-day cricket, Rohit Sharma is sixth on this list. The dashing batsman featured in all the previous editions of the T20 World Cup and would be raring to shine in this year’s competition.

While the Nagpur-born Rohit is an established opener now, he played at different positions in the marquee tournament. The right-handed batsman made his T20I debut during the 2007 T20 World Cup and didn’t take long in making a mark.

He scored a match-winning fifty against South Africa just in his second match. Rohit also played a fiery 30-run cameo in the final against Pakistan to bolster India’s total. Batting in the middle order, Rohit played many such knocks in the following tournaments before being promoted at the top order.

He played the last two editions (2014 and 2016) as an opener and will assume the same role in this year’s competition. Notably, Rohit had a memorable time in the ODI World Cup in 2019, and he would like to replicate his heroics in the T20 version of the major event.
