'Shouldn't have happened just before the T20 WC' - Hasan Ali on exits of coaches Misbah, Waqar

Recently, Pakistan head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis had stepped down from their respective roles. This decision had come one month ahead of the start of the T20 World Cup 2021. However, Pakistan’s pacer Hasan Ali has now opened up on working with Younis.

Just after these two resignations, Ramiz Raja had been appointed as the new chairman of the PCB. On the same day, he announced Matthew Hayden and Philander as the batting and bowling consultants for the T20 World Cup. Hasan Ali however feels that the change in management ahead of the marquee event shouldn’t have happened.

“He knows about bowling and I hope the work we do with him will be helpful for us. But as far as Viki [Waqar Younis] bhai is concerned, before such a mega event this change in management shouldn’t have happened but obviously, it’s not in my hands. I admire Waqar Younis and all the work I have done with him. I really enjoyed my time with him but unfortunately, he isn’t here and we have to move on. We will move and try to give our best,” Hasan Ali said as reported by ESPNcricinfo.

We will go all prepared from the first game: Hasan Ali

India and Pakistan are all set to face each other in the mega event on October 24. The clash between these two sides is always highly anticipated. Pakistan will then take on New Zealand and that fixture is also sought after a lot. The Black Caps had toured Pakistan for the white ball series earlier.

However, just before the start of the first ODI, the team abandoned the tour citing security threats. Hasan Ali highlighted the hype around these two crucial encounters. He added that Pakistan will go all prepared from the first game.

“Obviously a lot of hype has already been created about our first two games with India and New Zealand. We don’t have any room to get complacent and we can’t afford to take these matches lightly. We will go all prepared from the first game and obviously when you go on with the win from the opening game it boosts your confidence. Pressure is there but we all are professional and we know how to deal with it,” the speedster added.
