India Women U19 players groove to Kala Chashma song to celebrate their T20 World Cup triumph

The India Women U19 players celebrated in ecstasy after their famous seven-wicket victory over England in the final of the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup at Potchefstroom on Sunday, January 29. What made this win even more special was that it was the inaugural edition of this tournament and this also happens to be the first-ever world title win in Indian women’s cricket history.

While an elated skipper Shafali Verma could not control her emotions during the post-match interview, the players ensured that they made this triumph memorable by breaking into an impromptu dance after laying their hands on the prized trophy.

The next generation India women cricketers celebrated this triumph as they grooved to the Katrina Kaif and Siddharth Malhotra-starrer ‘Kala Chashma’ song. This celebration was posted by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on their official social media handles and they captioned the same as, “Winning on the field and off it."

This is indeed a huge feat for Indian women’s cricket with just over a month left for the inaugural edition of the Women’s IPL. Notably, the captain Shafali Verma and Richa Ghosh were the seasoned campaigners of this triumphant squad with some amount of exposure in international cricket.

India Women’s U19 players and staff members set to receive monetary benefits

Meanwhile, the Indian women’s U19 players and the staff members will also be getting monetary rewards for this victory as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a prize money worth a staggering INR 5 crore as a team bonus. This confirmation was made by the board secretary Jay Shah on his official Twitter handle.

The Indian team outclassed their English rivals in all departments of the game in a one-sided finale by skittling them out for a paltry 68 runs in the 18^th over with Titas Sadhu, Archana Devi and Parshavi Chopra registering two scalps to their names each.

England tried their level best to make things difficult for the Shafali Verma-led side in this easy chase by managing three scalps. Nonetheless, Soumya Tiwari (24*) ensured that the English team did not pull off any miracle like they had done in the semis against Australia and took the Girls in Blue over the line in the 14^th over.
